Liver

The liver corresponds to the Wood element and Wind energy.

In Traditional Chinese Medicine, the liver is responsible for the smooth circulation of Qi (vital energy) throughout the body, supporting emotional well-being.

As the liver is associated with the Wind element, it governs beginnings and initiation; it stores blood, regulates menstruation,  and manages the tendons and ligaments.

The liver opens into the eyes and influences vision; its condition is reflected in the nails.

Liver-related emotions include anger, frustration, and resentment.

A strong liver enables us to clearly understand our life purpose and find our path.

The gallbladder acts as a judge; it governs courage, controls reasoning and decision-making, stores and releases bile, and is responsible for fat digestion.

Causes of liver dysfunction include stress, alcohol, excessive physical exertion, a sedentary lifestyle, significant blood loss, irregular eating habits, overeating (especially in the evening), and synthetic substances (preservatives and pharmaceuticals).

If you experience emotional tension, mood swings, anger, irritability, frequent headaches, vision problems, discomfort in the rib area, or gynecological issues, Qigong exercises for the liver may help.

Healing sound: *Shu*—this releases the liver from resentment and transforms it into kindness.

Stand with your feet shoulder-width apart and keep your knees soft.

Place the thumb of your right hand in the center of your left palm. This point is located where the middle finger of the left hand touches the palm when the fingers are curled into a fist. Place the middle finger of your right hand on the back of your left hand, between the fourth and fifth metacarpal bones. In this way, the fingers of your right hand form a ring. Form a ring by touching the thumb and middle finger of your left hand together. You have now created a mudra resembling two intertwined rings.

Position the mudra below your navel. Exhale vigorously while making a "SHU" sound, and simultaneously lift your big toes to activate the liver meridian.

Perform this sequence 3–6 times.

Strive to maintain a healthy lifestyle and avoid stress, alcohol, spicy, fried, and refined foods, as well as overeating in the evening.

May your body be in motion, your mind at peace, and your soul as clear as a mountain lake.

I wish you good health!
